LITERACY BASED DRAMA WORKSHOP: KS2
SHAKESPEARE – PLAY IN A DAY
ACT ON INFO turn up, start work with a class at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day the class perform a 10-15 minute play in front of an audience. The Shakespeare play is a condensed, modern language version of the original play introducing the pupils to the themes, characters, and language of the play in a fun way. Play in a Day drama workshops can be used to introduce or conclude topic work, to promote inclusion and for revision. For more details see our Play in a Day page.
Booking details:
Number of children: One class (approx 30 children) per Play in a Day
Length of workshop: Full school day
Works best with: Yrs 4, 5 and 6
Space needed: Requires the use of a school hall or gymnasium.
SHAKESPEARE – INTERACTIVE DRAMA DAY
For larger schools or those who want more than one class involved our interactive Shakespeare drama day is a great choice. We spend time with up to four classes per day, exploring the Shakespeare play of your choice. We explore its characters, themes and language, using exciting interactive drama techniques to make Shakespeare come alive for the pupils.
Suggested Format:
For 2 classes
Morning Workshop (2 hours long)
- Introduction 9.00am
- Warm up until 9.30am
- Drama Workshop until 11.15 (With break)
Afternoon Workshop (2 hours long)
- Introduction 1.00pm
- Warm up until 1.30pm
- Drama workshop until 3pm
For 4 classes
Morning Workshops (1 hour long)
- 9.30 – 10.30am (Class 1)
- 10.45 – 11.45am (Class 2)
Afternoon Workshops (1 hour long)
- 1 – 2pm (Class 3)
- 2 – 3pm (Class 4)
