PSHE BASED DRAMA WORKSHOPS: KS3

 PEER PRESSURE – FORUM THEATRE WORKSHOP

This forum theatre drama workshop for key stage 3 pupils raises awareness of peer pressure and its effects, by exploring what it means, the difference between negative and positive peer pressure and how we can cope with negative peer pressure by developing assertiveness and coping strategies.

We use a scenario to show an instance of negative peer pressure. The young people then explore each character and their motivations using hot seating and forum theatre techniques, eventually taking over the scenario for themselves to establish the effectiveness of their suggestions.

 Booking details:

Number of children in each workshop:  Two classes (approx 60 pupils) per workshop

Number of workshops per day: Four maximum

Length of workshop: 1 hour

Space needed: Requires the use of a school hall or gymnasium.
